Following a successful franchise resale, Mike Stead is the new owner of TaxAssist Accountants Rugby.
John Barr has seen huge changes in the industry during his two decades with the franchise and looks back on his time with good memories.
“It’s fair to say that the TaxAssist I joined back in 2001 is a world away from where the franchise is today,” John said.
“So much has changed in the industry with regards to technology and regulation, but I can honestly say that TaxAssist has been there for me every step of the way, and I would not have built the business up as I have, without the team’s expert help and support.
“After a rewarding and enjoyable 21 years, I’m pleased to be handing over to Mike, who is an accountant with more than 30 years’ experience, so my clients will be in good hands going forward.”
Mike and John are currently working together in a handover period, and Mike is enjoying getting to know the established team of staff and meeting with his clients.
“This is a really exciting time for me,” said Mike, who was so impressed with the TaxAssist franchisee opportunity he came out of retirement to make his career goal a reality. “I’ve long held the ambition to run my own practice and I’ve loved meeting with clients and getting to know more about their businesses. By partnering with TaxAssist Accountants, I know that my clients and I have that extra layer of expertise and support, so a win-win situation for all concerned. I look forward to further growth and expansion in the years ahead.”
