Our franchisees have worked both in practice and in industry, as well as in banking, financial, corporate and consulting services. Many others come from a successful business ownership background too.
We look for people who are capable of setting themselves up in business, but see the value in the brand, training, support and systems that investing in a franchise with TaxAssist Accountants brings. Having a financial background is essential – the focus is on advising and supporting clients whilst your tech and team do the actual number crunching.
What makes for a successful TaxAssist Accountants business owner?
The most successful franchisees are commercially and financially astute, and confident with leading a small team.
The majority of people who join us have a recognised accountancy qualification, typically ACA, ACCA, CTA, AAT, ATT or CIMA, and have a mix of industry and practice backgrounds.
However, it’s important to note that you do not necessarily need to have worked in an accountancy practice recently and you do not have to be an accountant to join our network.
But we are very selective on who we award a franchise to. Franchisees who are not qualified accountants will come from senior management positions within the banking or financial services sectors and will need to show existing financial acumen.
TaxAssist Accountants key attributes

We have a number of case studies for you to view the range of people who have joined TaxAssist Accountants, which can be found here.
Just like running your own business, running a franchise requires hard work and commitment. Although we provide the systems, business model and experience to help you run the business effectively, the model also relies on you to make it work by introducing your own personality, energy and initiative.
