The webinar, ‘Master MTD for Income Tax: Get your practice and clients up to speed’, will be held on Wednesday, 9 April at 2pm. It will be hosted by AccountingWeb and will cover how TaxAssist Accountants is educating its network and clients ahead of the mandation date.
Jo said: “I’m looking forward to taking part in the panel discussion and explaining more about our extensive plans.
“As well as educating clients through various channels including social media, newsletters, written content, videos, live webinars and face-to-face events, we will also be hosting a series of events later in the year for the accountants in our network.
“These will cover the MTD for Income Tax rules which will be presented by HMRC as well as software demonstrations from our partners, QuickBooks, Xero, Dext and Hammock, who will be showcasing their solutions. These events form part of our MTD for Income Tax activities to ensure the network is in a position to offer clients a compliant, efficient and attractive solution.”
HMRC expects around 780,000 people with business or property income over £50,000 will join the MTD for Income Tax service from April 2026, with a further 970,000 joining from April 2027. The Government has made a commitment to expand MTD for Income Tax to those with income over £20,000 by the end of this Parliament.
“The series of events and the plans that we have will ensure that the network is equipped to service clients and seize the opportunity this new initiative provides,” said Jo.
