Last Week The Irish finance press was abuzz with news of the achievement of TaxAssist Accountants:
Cork Independent "TaxAssist Accountants has broken into the top 20 accountancy firms in the country...The line-up of the big accountancy firms in Ireland rarely changes with very large firms such as KMPG and Deloitte dominating the listings.
Making it into the top 20 is even more noteworthy given TaxAssist Accountants was set up just three years ago. Since then, the network of ‘walk-in’ accountancy and tax advice shops has grown from zero to 23 branches across Ireland servicing over 3,000 small business clients. In a market that has shown very little growth since 2008, this type of expansion is unusual."
Cork Chamber "TaxAssist Accountants, a newcomer to the accountancy industry has this week disrupted the status quo by entering the ranks of the top 20 Accountancy practices in the country."
Greg Murphy and Roddy Comyn became Master Franchisors for the Republic of Ireland in 2009, having been impressed with the growth and success of the UK Franchise Operation.
Greg says "“Clients have really taken to the concept of a drop in shop, where they can have all of their accountancy, tax returns, payroll and bookkeeping needs looked after. Our aim is to appeal to the small business owner and we want to demystify accountancy and talk to him or her in plain English. I expect us to grow at the same pace in 2013.”
Cork franchisee Clive Aherne speaking about the achievement says, "We’re delighted to be recognised like this. We’ve been working hard over the last 3 years to offer something new to the market and breaking into the ranks like this proves the strength of our model. Although I am based locally and deal primarily with Cork City based clients, being part of a network brings advantages to my clients and to me in that we can always be ahead of the curve when it comes to new initiatives and technology".
