The award-winning franchise, which set up 18 years ago, has more than 200 offices across the UK, 150 of them now operating from shop-style premises on the high street.
Andrew Twynam, owner of TaxAssist Accountants in Chesham and Hemel Hempstead, commented: “I set up in serviced offices Hemel Hempstead in March 2012, but knew I wanted to be in shop-front premises as soon as possible. While looking for suitable premises, the franchisor came across the high street office space in Chesham and I knew it was perfect.
“I am delighted to have opened the new high street office; we’re already experiencing a huge increase in customer enquiries and small business owners dropping in since we opened. We hope to replicate this by moving to a suitable shop-front in Hemel Hempstead in the not too distant future.”
A key aspect of the TaxAssist Accountants business model, shop-front offices are designed to offer convenient, accessible services that become a visible part of local business communities.
James Mattam, business development manager at TaxAssist Accountants said: “Where the franchise model adds value is the strength of a corporate brand, the high visibility of the TaxAssist Accountants shop-front premises and an extremely experienced network and central support centre.
“2013 has been a very positive year so far. By offering an easily accessible, straight-talking accountancy service, our network has experienced exceptional growth in the face of a challenging economic climate.”
TaxAssist Accountants has seen a year-on-year growth of 14% against a backdrop of slowdown in the accountancy industry generally, with latest research showing the industry grew by 5% in 2012 compared to 8% in 2011.
The franchise currently looks after the tax and accountancy needs of 45,000 small businesses across the UK, employing more than 700 staff. Its successful business model is also in the process of being exported to Canada, the USA, New Zealand and Australia.
