When Syed Hussain FCCA joined TaxAssist Accountants in March 2025, he brought with him an existing client base of 100 and a determination to accelerate the growth of his practice. Just four months on, he’s already seeing the benefits of being part of the network — and has his sights set on opening a shop in his territory in East Croydon.
Syed is an experienced accountant who had worked both in industry and practice before launching his own business in 2024. “I had been operating my own practice for a year, and I could see that the growth was not as pacy as I wanted it to be,” said Syed. “I knew that if I wanted to grow, I needed the extra support, market presence and roadmap that TaxAssist provides.”
Syed was introduced to the franchise by his cousin, Raza Syed, who joined in 2019 and has since built an impressive practice in Southall with 385 clients and £500,000 in turnover.
“To be honest, having started to run a practice on my own, I realise I should have joined TaxAssist earlier — I’d now be in the position Raza is in,” Syed reflected. “I went into business because I’m a businessman. I’m not a specialist in IT or marketing and although clients were landing on my website, they weren’t converting. I was lacking the right foundations.”
Now, just a few months into his franchise journey, Syed is already seeing a return on his investment. He’s been able to focus on what matters most: delivering services, meeting clients, and managing his practice.
“Anyone out there who is running their own practice and struggling to grow to the next level — I’d definitely recommend looking at the benefits TaxAssist brings. The model relies on your presence and following the system, but as Raza has shown, it adds a lot of value. It’s up to the individual to extract it, and I’m looking forward to doing just that.”
